Student Account Setup Video Tutorial

1. Purchase your license (you will need the serial number to activate your software).

2. Download and install the software.

3. Use your serial number to set up and activate your personal account.

This is the most recent version of the Micro Digital MediaTM Lab Manual that supports VUMIE 2012.  It provides activities to teach students how to use the software to simulate working in a microbiology wetlab, and activities to show how biochemical tests relate to bacterial ID and many topics central to microbiology courses.

Enhanced video-based instructions, updated content -  it also contains instructions for setting up your own Fantasy Microbiology LeagueTM.

This is pdf file shows how case studies and ID of unknowns in the software can be used to simulate conducting a research study.

  • VUMIE 2012 subgroup "Epidemiology 2" was used to select a microbe for making this poster. 
  • The Case Study was used to supply the Introduction for the poster
  • Results from the ID process were used to supply information for the Results section
  • A screen shot of the Gram stain was included in the Results section
  • Results from tests and use of the ID Matrix provided additional results
  • Additional instructions for completing the poster are found in Activity 30 in Micro Digital Media™ 3/e.
