Enterobacter amnigenus biogroup 2

This is a small Gram negative rod-shaped organism isolated from drinking water, surface water, and soil, but not known to have any clinical significance. Gas is produced from glucose and most strains are motile. It is differentiated from biogroup 1 based on inability to ferment sucrose or raffinose and the ability to ferment sorbitol.
