# 6) Editing gradebook preferences

Learn how to customize which assignments appear in your VUMIE gradebook.

## Lab activities

Under the **Assignments > Activities** tab, click **Edit** for any activity.

At the bottom of the window, you'll see a new checkbox labeled **Exclude from gradebook**. Check this box and click **Save**.

The selected activity will no longer appear in your VUMIE gradebook download.

## Quizzes

Under the **Assignments > Quizzes** tab, locate the quiz you want to remove from your gradebook, and check the **Exclude from gradebook** checkbox.
